Is this card worth grading?

Compare selling a Pokémon card raw against grading it at PSA, CGC, SGC, BGS and TAG. It uses each grader's current fees and turnaround, eBay's selling fees, and your numbers. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.

The numbers filled in are made-up examples, not market prices. Replace them with sold prices you've looked up for your card.

Below this, we say sell raw.

Slab price vs. your values. If a grader's slabs sell for less than the values above, lower its percentage (for example, 80% means its 10 sells for 80% of your "as a 10" value).

Each grader is shown at its cheapest open tier that fits your declared value and order size. Estimates only: grades and sale prices aren't guaranteed, and turnaround is the grader's own estimate.

How the checker works

For selling raw, it takes your raw value and subtracts eBay's final value fee. For each grader, it multiplies the chance of each grade by what the card would sell for at that grade (after eBay fees), adds those up, then subtracts the grading fee and your shipping. The difference between the two is the expected gain from grading. The step-by-step guide walks through the same math with examples, and the grader comparison explains the tiers.

Sources (all fees and turnaround read from each company's own site):

  1. eBay selling fees: ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/selling-fees, checked Oct 24, 2026. 13.25% of the total sale amount up to $7,500 per item, 2.35% on the portion over $7,500, plus $0.30 per order (orders of $10 or less) or $0.40 (orders over $10). eBay calculates the percentage on the total amount of the sale, including shipping charged and sales tax. The checker applies the percentage to the sale price only, so your real fee will be a little higher if you charge shipping or the buyer pays sales tax.
  2. PSA: www.psacard.com/pricing, checked Oct 24, 2026. Value Bulk, Value, Value Plus and Value Max are paused (PSA: 'Value Services Are Temporarily Paused'). Standard opened Sep 14, 2026 and is processed after existing Value and Bulk orders.
  3. CGC: www.cgccards.com/submit/services-fees/cgc-grading/, checked Oct 24, 2026. Free-membership prices. CGC says Associate/Premium members save 10% and Elite members save 20%. Bulk needs at least 25 cards (games can be mixed).
  4. SGC: gosgc.com/card-grading/services-pricing, checked Oct 24, 2026. Standard-size raw card grading. SGC lists Standard as '40+ day' (no upper bound) and says turnaround starts once the order is unboxed and logged.
  5. BGS (Beckett): www.beckett.com/grading, checked Oct 24, 2026. Base ($14.95 / $17.95) and Standard ($34.95) were not taking orders when checked. Priority ($124.95, 5 business days) is listed, but we could not confirm it was open, so it's left out. Beckett's grading page does not list a maximum declared value per tier.
  6. TAG: taggrading.com/pages/pricing, checked Oct 24, 2026. TAG says its price never changes with a card's value; 'cap' here is the built-in protection per card. Value reopened Oct 21, 2026 'while capacity allows' and may be paused again. Value needs 10+ cards, Base 5+.
